Consign With Us

We offer a 50/50 split to sellers on all consigned items - one of the most generous rates out there! How can we do that? Easy. The store is in the lowest 400 sq.ft of our home, meaning we have very little overhead, so we can be generous…which we love!

HOW DOES CONSIGNING WORK?

1. Drop Off - Make an appointment to drop off the items you wish to consign in bags, boxes or bins that you don't need returned to you (we have limited storage space and cannot store containers on site). Please ensure whatever you use to bring in your clothing is clearly labelled with your first and last name. It is also appreciated if your gently-used items could be freshly laundered and free of pet hair, smoke or other irritants. Please do not bring hangers.

2. Create A Vendor Account* - Please click here to access our consigner portal where you can create your account. Once your account has been created we will be able to upload all of your items where you can see in real time what pieces have sold and how much you have made. 
* PLEASE NOTE: Creating a vendor portal through our website is the equivalent of starting a consigner contract with us. This contract will last until all of your items are sold or either you or Stork & Crown Consignment ends the contract by written notice (email, text etc). Creating a vendor portal indicates that you agree with our terms as outlined on this webpage. 

3. Sort to Sell - We will sort through all of the items you bring & determine which items will sell in our store. Items that are selected for sale will be catalogued, photographed, tagged, uploaded to our online store and also put on the sales floor. Items not selected will be returned to you or donated - which is discussed in advance. We reserve the right to price items as we deem appropriate based on demand for the item and its condition (pilling, fading, and small flaws will all effect the price point). we ensure you that we will sell all items for a fair amount and always try to get you the best value for the clothing you entrust to us! 

4. Get Paid - You will receive 50% of every item that we sell on your behalf. If you have items that sell, we will pay you out at the end of each month via etransfer to the email account provided when you created your portal, whether you’ve made $10 or $100. Please note that this pay structure may be subject to change without notice. 

HOW DO WE PRICE YOUR ITEMS?

Items are priced at approximately 30% of the original list price, if that price can be found. For example, if you purchased a pair of maternity jeans that retailed for $80, we would sell them for around $24, and you would be paid out $12. Multiply that by a number of items and you have a pretty little paycheck out of it - yahoo! 

Some exceptions will apply. Popular and sought after styles, and unique and one of a kind items may be priced higher, up to 50%, based on our discretion. Items in mediocre condition or which are not in high demand may be priced lower or returned to you, based on our discretion. We also will have a $5 section, where faded, more worn items are priced for quick sale, based on our discretion.

Sales will also be applied to certain items, or to our entire inventory, at our discretion and without notice to the consigner, always with the goal of selling your items for a fair value. 

WHERE WILL I SELL YOUR ITEMS?

1. In Store - We will sell your items out of our home-based store where we offer in-person private shopping appointments to our clients. We have a 400 sq.ft store which is beautifully decorated and inviting! Please feel free to take a peek when you drop off your items.

2. Online - Every item in the store (with some small exceptions) will also be sold online in my Shopify store, along with some items featured on social media - Facebook and Instagram primarily - on a rotating basis. We offer shipping all across Canada.

DISCLAIMERS

1. Stork & Crown Consignment reserves the right to:
- Refuse any items.
- Markdown items at any time or return items due to unforeseen flaws.
(Typical markdowns are 25-50% off after 60-90 days).

2. Stork & Crown is not responsible for stolen and/or damaged items.

3. Unsold Merchandise - After a maximum of one year from the date that your items are uploaded, unsold merchandise can be returned to you upon request, donated, and otherwise become the property of Stork & Crown Consignment if contact with the you (the vendor) cannot be made after reasonable attempts. Please indicate upon drop-off what you would like us to do with your unsold items. We frequently donate items to the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Center and are happy to do so on your behalf.
